8. Go Glacier Trekking To Gaumukh

Go Glacier Trekking To Gaumukh: HolidayIQ Traveller A.S. shares, “This is where the Ganges River originates and it is called Bhagirathi in that region. We began our 19 km-long trek from Gangotri and by the evening, we managed to reach a place called Chirwasa - its place at Bhagirathi Valley. During the night, it got really cold and we could see some of the most reputed peaks of the country - Gangotri 1, 2, 3 and Bhagirathi 1, 2, 3 and icing of the cake, glowing like a crown, was the Shivling Peak. Next day, we started early morning to reach Gaumukh. On the way, we experienced a 500 metre-long landslide prone area where we had to run and cross missing the falling stones. Finally, in a few hours, we reached Gangotri. Trust me guys, I have never seen something so beautiful. This time we were not seeing a mountain covered with ice; this time it was mountain of ice and my first-ever glacier experience - it was simply jaw-dropping beauty. That feeling of seeing origin of India's longest river. Like everyone else even I got a bottle of pure Ganga water home. Worth every step we took in 19km long trek. Life time opportunity.” - 3 Reviews
