Pakistan to play second Test match against Bangladesh without spectators, tickets to be refunded

The PCB has also announced that those who have bought the tickets will be refunded directly to their accounts.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to hold the second Test match against Bangladesh at the National Stadium in Karachi behind closed doors. A stadium without spectators will lack the energy of the sport. The charm of a cricket match lies in the presence of spectators and a match without them will be similar to the Covid-19 days.

Why is the Pakistan Cricket Board organizing the match in a close-door setup?

The decision has been made by the Pakistan Cricket Board as the venue is currently under construction and is being prepared for the ICC Champions Trophy which is scheduled to take place in 2025.

Tickets to be refunded

The PCB has also announced that those who have bought the tickets will be refunded directly to their accounts. The sales for the second Test which is scheduled to happen on From August 30 to September 3 has been suspended. An assurance has also been given to the fans that the renovation work will result in transforming the stadium into more spectator-friendly.

The Board also recognizes the significance of a live audience as it helps in creating an electrifying atmosphere during cricket matches. The prime concern for the board for now is the health and safety of the spectators. Meanwhile, the test series is going to take place on August 21st in Rawalpindi, Pakistan and Bangladesh will be facing each other.
