7th Pay Scale Updates: The Uttar Pradesh government has increased the dearness allowance while giving relief to the employees who did not get the seventh pay scale. Regular and full-time employees of aided educational and technical educational institutions, urban bodies, employees on work charge and employees working in UGC pay scale will be given 239 per cent dearness allowance of the basic salary from January 1, 2024.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department Deepak Kumar issued an order regarding the same on Friday. According to the government order, the benefit will also be available to those employees who have not been selected in the revised pay matrix from January 1, 2016 or whose pay scale has not been revised from this date.

Employees To Receive Cash
The amount of dearness allowance due from January 1, 2024 to May 31, 2024 will be deposited in the employees’ provident fund account. Employees who have retired before the issuance of the government order or are going to retire in six months will be given the entire amount of arrears of dearness allowance in cash. It is worth noting that even now the employees of many departments are getting the fourth, fifth and sixth pay scales.

Sikkim Hikes DA
Recently, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang’s government hiked the dearness allowance of state employees and pensioners by 4 per cent. The revised DA rates will come into action from 1 July 2023.
As per officials, following the increase, dearness allowance for government employees and pensioners surged to 46 per cent. They informed that the increase in DA would have an impact of Rs 174.6 crore on the state exchequer in the current financial year.
