Leaked details and rumours have pointed to significant upgrades in the 2024 models. Both the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra are expected to feature a 120Hz-refresh-rate pOLED screen, with the Ultra model sporting a slightly larger 4-inch cover screen and a 165Hz refresh rate.
There are upgrades expected in the camera department as well. Both phones are expected to include a 50-megapixel main camera. The Razr 50 will have a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens, while the Ultra will be equipped with a 2x telephoto camera.
Under the hood, the Razr 50 might run on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300x 5G processor, whereas the Ultra will likely be powered by the third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8S processor. These improvements, along with possible enhancements in RAM and storage, position these devices as strong contenders in the foldable phone market. Despite these upgrades, pricing is expected to remain consistent with previous models. The Razr 50 is anticipated to be priced around $700, while the Razr 50 Ultra will likely be available for $1,000.
Following the China launch, a global event is expected to make these phones available in other countries, potentially before Samsung’s anticipated Galaxy Z Flip reveal on July 10.
