Varanasi-Howrah (Kolkata) Mini Vande Bharat Express Train: The Mini Vande Bharat Express with eight coaches is going to change the face of travel between the northern city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and the eastern city of Howrah in West Bengal. This new train service is intended to run at high speed of between 130-160 km/hour and will take approximately six hours to cover the distance between these two active cities.

The inception of this new service comes on the heels of the delivery of 15 Vande Bharat trainsets from the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. These innovative trains are available in two configurations: eight-coach sleeper coaches and chair cars, catering to the diverse needs of passengers.
The Mini Vande Bharat Express will make it the fifth train that links Varanasi to other significant locations across the country. At the moment, Vande Bharat services are available between Varanasi and New Delhi through two trains and between Varanasi and Patna and Ranchi, starting from Varanasi Cantt station. However, the next train is expected to run from the main Varanasi Junction Railway Station to Howrah Railway Station, which would further improve connectivity and comfort for passengers.

Varanasi-Howrah Mini Vande Bharat Express Train: Key Details
- Route: Varanasi to Howrah
- Coaches: 8 (including chair cars and sleepers)
- Speed: 130 to 160 km/h

- This will be the fifth Vande Bharat Express serving Varanasi, adding to the existing services to New Delhi, Patna, and Ranchi.
- The Howrah-bound Mini Vande Bharat will depart from Banaras station.

Anticipating the Launch of Varanasi-Howrah Mini Vande Bharat Train
It was reported that a proposal for a specific Varanasi-Howrah Vande Bharat train was prepared and sent to the Railway Board in 2023. After the completion of the survey of the route and submission of the report to the Railway Ministry, the announcement of the beginning of Varanasi-Howrah Vande Bharat services is expected soon.
