According to National Commission For Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma, Kumar was ‘arrested’ from Kejriwal’s home
Delhi police on Saturday arrested former personal secretary of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Bibhav Kumar, in connection with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal assault case. In her complaint to the police, Maliwal alleged Kumar attacked her at Kejriwal’s residence on May 14 with “full force, slapping and kicking her in the chest and abdomen.”
He is being taken for his medical checkup following which he’ll be produced in Delhi’s Tiz Hazari court to record his statement in front of a magistrate.

KUMAR SAYS ‘READY TO COOPERATE’
Earlier, in a mail to Delhi police, Kumar said he was ready to cooperate in the investigation and urged police to consider his complaint against Maliwal.
“I am ready to cooperate in the investigation, but police should also consider my complaint against Swati Maliwal,” he said.
NCW CHIEF ACCUSED KEJRIWAL OF ‘SHELTERING’ CRIMINAL
According to National Commission For Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma, Kumar was arrested from CM Kejriwal’s home.
“Delhi CM’s aid Bibhav Kumar got arrested from his house. So CM was giving shelter to alleged criminal,” she said in a post on X.

AAP SAY KUMAR ARRESTED ‘WITHOUT NOTICE’
On the arrest of Kumar, Sanjeev Nasiar, state president of AAP legal cell said, “We have filed an application in the court saying that we have not yet received a copy of the FIR. The order was reserved till 4 pm but now I have come to know that he has been brought here without any notice. Now we want to go inside (Civil Lines PS) but we are being stopped from going inside.”
THE CASE
In its probe into the incident, the Delhi Police on Friday took Maliwal to the CM’s residence to recreate the crime scene, an official said, adding that her statement was also recorded before a magistrate at the Tis Hazari court.
In the FIR, Maliwal claimed that Kumar hit her with “full force again and again” and she was “kicked and slapped seven to eight times”. She also alleged that despite telling him that she was menstruating and in pain, he did not budge.
Meanwhile, Kumar has also filed a counter-complaint saying Maliwal breached the security of the CM’s residence, gained access forcibly and unauthorisedly, and created a ruckus there.
When Kumar tried to stop her, she hurled abuses at him with the intent to physically assault him, according to the complaint.
