Heatwave conditions forecast for THESE states:
A fresh heatwave spell is likely over Western India covering Gujarat, Rajasthan, and west Madhya Pradesh during the next 5 days.
In northeastern Assam, there is a cyclonic circulation, while another is present over northeastern Bihar in the lower tropospheric levels. According to IMD, strong southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to Northeast India are expected to persist in the lower tropospheric levels. This weather pattern is anticipated to bring about the following conditions:
Over the next seven days, fairly widespread to moderate rainfall is expected, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Heavy Rainfall Prediction:
Isolated heavy rainfall is forecasted over specific regions of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya from today and will continue till 10th May. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Gangetic West Bengal are likely to have heavy rainfall today and the same weather conditions will prevail in Odisha from May 7th to May 9th.
IMD has forecasted a fairly widespread to light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds, is anticipated over West Bengal and Sikkim from today and will be there till May 7th. Similarly, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, is likely to occur over Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha during the same period.

Temperature to Watch:
A rise in maximum temperatures is expected by about 2°C in most parts of the plains of Northwest India, except for East Uttar Pradesh, where temperatures are expected to fall by 2-3°C initially and then remain unchanged.
No significant change in maximum temperatures is likely to happen over Gujarat state in the next 24 hours, followed by a rise of 2-3°C thereafter.
