PM Vishwakarma Yojana: For the upliftment of traditional artisans and craftsmen across the country, the Government of India has launched some beneficial schemes. One such scheme is PM Vishwakarma Yojana. With a vision to preserve and promote indigenous art forms of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the scheme on September 17, 2023. The basic objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance and support to the traditional artisans.

What is PM Vishwakarma Yojana?
PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a flagship program of the Central Government designed to empower skilled artisans and craftsmen by providing financial assistance, skill development training and market access. The scheme aims to provide end-to-end support to artisans and craftsmen working with their own hands and tools.
PM Vishwakarma Yojana: List of Trades Covered Under the Scheme
The Scheme covers artisans and craftspeople engaged in 18 trades –
Wood Based – Carpenter (Suthar) and Boat Maker
Iron/ Metal Based – Armourer, Blacksmith (Lohar), Hammer & Tool Kit Maker and Locksmith
Gold/ Silver Based- Goldsmith (Sonar)
Clay Based – Potter (Kumhaar)
Stone Based – Sculptor (Moortikar, Stone Carver), Stone Breaker
Leather Based – Cobbler (Chamkar/ Shoesmith)/ Footwear Artisan
Construction – Mason (Rajmistri)
Others- Basket/ Mat/ Broom Maker/ Coir Weaver, Doll and Toy Maker (Traditional), Barber (Naai), Garland Maker (Malakaar), Washerman (Dhobi), Tailor (Darzi) and Fishing Net Maker

PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Key Benefits
The scheme envisages to provide the following benefits to artisans and craftsmen:
1. Recognition
By enrolling in this scheme, artisans and craftsmen will get recognition through PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card.
2. Skill Upgradation
Artisans and craftsmen will be provided basic training of 5-7 days and advanced training of 15 days or more, with a stipend of Rs 500 per day.
3. Toolkit Incentive
A toolkit incentive of up to Rs 15,000 in the form of e-voucher will also be provided at the beginning of basic skills training.
4. Credit Support
Collateral free ‘Enterprise Development Loans’ of up to Rs 3 lakh in two tranches – Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh -with tenures of 18 months and 30 months, respectively, will be provided at a concessional rate of interest fixed at 5%, with Government of India subvention to the extent of 8%.
Beneficiaries who have completed Basic Training will be eligible to avail the first tranche of credit support of up to Rs 1 lakh. The second loan tranche will be available to beneficiaries who have availed the 1st tranche and maintained a standard loan account and have adopted digital transactions in their business or have undergone Advanced Training.
5. Incentive for Digital Transaction
An amount of Re1 per digital transaction (up to maximum 100 transactions monthly) will be credited to the beneficiary’s account for each digital pay-out or receipt.
6. Marketing Support
Marketing support will be provided to the artisans and craftspeople in the form of quality certification, branding, onboarding on e-commerce platforms such as GeM, advertising, publicity and other marketing activities to improve linkage to value chain.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana: How to Register Online?
Follow these simple steps to register for PM Vishwakarma Yojana:
Step 1: Visit the Official Portal
Open the official PM Vishwakarma Yojana website i.e, https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in/ and click on the ‘login’ from the drop-down.
Step 2: Go to CSC Login
From the Login dropdown menu, select the ‘CSC Login’ and then select the ‘CSC- View E-Shram Data’ option. Now, enter CSC User Name and Password to login.
Step 3: E-Shram registered applicant
CSC users can now see E-Shram registered applicant details. So they can contact those applicants and register them in PM Vishwakarma.
Step 4: CSC-Register Artisans
To register Artisans in PM Vishwakarma, CSC Users need to select the ‘CSC- Register Artisans’ option from the Login drop-down and enter CSC User Name and Password.
Step 5: Select NO and click on Continue
Now, select ‘No’ in ‘Is there any government employee within your family?’ and ‘Have you availed credit/loan facility under similar schemes of central government or state government for self-employment/business development, e.g. PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, Mudra in the past 5 years?’ and click on ‘Continue’ button.
Step 6: Enter Aadhaar Linked Mobile Number
Now, enter Aadhaar Linked Mobile Number and the Aadhaar Number of Artisans. Then, click on the ‘OTP’ button, and do OTP verification received on the Aadhaar Linked Mobile Number.
Step 7: Perform Aadhaar Authentication
Now, perform Aadhaar authentication using biometrics. For which, click on the biometric button and do biometric authentication.
Step 8: Fill Registration Form
Now, fill out all the details in the Registration Form.
Step 9: Accept Declaration
The next step is to accept the Declaration and Terms and Conditions.
Step 10: Click on Submit
After entering all the required information, click on the Submit Button. A Registration Number will be generated.
Step 11: Registration Complete
With this, you have successfully registered yourself for PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
