Mahindra Thar 5 Door Launch Date: Mahindra and Mahindra, a leading automobile manufacturer in India has been working on the Thar 5-door for quite some time now. The Mahindra Thar 5-door has also been spotted testing several times revealing significant details. As per a report by HT Auto, Mahindta has announced that it will be launching the Thar 5-door for the Indian market on August 15, 2024.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door – Design
The extension of the Thar’s wheelbase has enabled Mahindra to incorporate rear doors, enhancing the SUV’s practicality by allowing easier access for rear passengers. Notably, the door handles have been cleverly positioned on the C-pillars, imparting a sleek three-door appearance to the vehicle. Spy shots of the upcoming Thar 5-door reveal significant design updates, including new circular LED headlights with Daytime Running Lamps, a revised grille, and LED tail lamps. It is also speculated that it will be exclusively offered in a fixed metal top option.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door – Interior
Mahindra Thar 5-door’s interior has also been spied several times ahead of its official launch. The spy shots suggest the inclusion of a new touchscreen infotainment system, first seen in the XUV400 Pro, complemented by features like automatic climate control and an electric sunroof. The steering wheel, borrowed from the Mahindra Scorpio N, is also expected to make an appearance.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door – Engine Specs
Talking about its engine specs, the Thar 5-door is expected to be offered with both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The petrol variant will be equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, while the diesel version will feature a 2.2-litre unit. Both engines will be paired with a choice of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Mahindra is anticipated to provide rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations to cater to varied driving preferences.
