New Delhi: If a taxpayer has paid more taxes than their actual liability, they are entitled to an income tax refund. Once the taxpayer claims a refund in their income tax return, the tax department proceeds to process the return. Subsequently, the taxpayer will receive an intimation from the Centralized Processing Center (CPC) under Section 143(1) confirming the amount of refund they are eligible to receive. In a digital age marked by technological advancements, tax filing procedures have evolved to offer greater convenience and accessibility to taxpayers. The introduction of the ITR Status service allows you to check your Income Tax Return (ITR) status with just a few clicks.
