Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Marathawada and south Vidarbha in lower tropospheric levels, light to moderate rainfall is likely over central and east India till February 15, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) mentioned.

States like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim will see wet spells during February 13-15. Isolated rainfall is likely over Odisha and Uttar Pradesh till February 14, 2024.

Delhi’s temperature set to rise
After a chilly and foggy winter, temperatures in the national capital are set to rise. As per IMD officials, the maximum temperature is likely to touch 26 degrees Celsius by the middle of this week.
Notably, Delhi saw seven cold wave days in January (the highest in 16 years), with the temperatures dipping to the lowest in 12 years.
According to IMD, the day temperature is expected to touch 26 degrees Celsius by Wednesday. However, the minimum temperature is not expected to rise above the 10-degree mark – normal for this time of the year — for most days, and mornings will remain cold.

Minimum temperature forecast
A gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-4°C is very likely over Northwest India during the next 5 days, IMD mentioned. Further, a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C is also very likely over many parts of east India during the next 2 days. No significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over central India during the next 5 days.
