Indian Railways train delay update: 26 trains delayed as fog, cold wave grips north India – Check complete list here

“26 trains running late in Delhi area due to fog,” the Indian Railway said in a statement.

The dense fog in Delhi affected various train services, with the Indian Railways reporting that a total of 26 trains are experiencing delays in the national capital due to reduced visibility caused by the thick fog.

“26 trains running late in Delhi area due to fog,” the Indian Railway said in a statement. According to the Indian Railways, several Delhi-bound trains were delayed by one to six hours due to fog.

According to RWFC Delhi, dense to very dense fog is anticipated at isolated locations, along with cold day to severe cold day conditions at a few places in Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi until January 7.

Cold wave grips north India

The national capital saw no relief from the bone-chilling cold, awakening to another frosty morning on Wednesday. In the Ridge area, the minimum temperature was recorded at around 8.3°C, indicating that the prevailing cold wave showed no signs of easing its grip on the national capital and extensive regions of North India.

Dr. Mrityunjay Mohapatra, Director General of IMD, expressed, “Between January 5-11, we anticipate a drop in night temperatures, potentially resulting in cold wave conditions in certain parts of central India and the adjoining northern plains. Daytime temperatures are also expected to remain below normal, particularly in Madhya Pradesh, northern sections of Maharashtra, southern parts of Uttar Pradesh, and adjacent areas of Haryana and Rajasthan.”
