NEW DELHI: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) claimed to have sold out all newly constructed EWS and LIG flats in Dwarka under the Festival Special Housing Scheme 2023 on the first day of the booking on Monday.

The registration for the scheme, under which flats are being offered on the first come, first served (FCFS) basis, began on November 24 and will close on March 31, 2024. The booking of flats began on December 11.
“We have sold 1,008 EWS flats and 316 LIG flats in Dwarka’s Sector 14. Around 1,500 flats have been booked in Dwarka, Narela and Loknayakpuram under the FCFS housing scheme on Day 1, which include over 1,100 EWS and around 400 LIG flats,” said an official. The total registration under the scheme is around 12,500.

Under the scheme, over 32,000 flats of various categories are being offered in Dwarka, Loknayakpuram and Narela. It includes 728 economically weaker section flats in Sector 19B in Dwarka, 316 low-income group flats and 1,008 EWS flats in Sector 14 Dwarka, 224 EWS flats in Loknayakpuram and over 28,000 in Narela. The EWS flats cost upwards of Rs 11.5 lakh, LIG ones start from Rs 23 lakh, mid-income group from Rs 1 crore, high-income group flats from Rs 1.4 crore, super HIGs from Rs 2.5 crore and penthouses from Rs 5 crore.

“We are getting encouraging response and expecting selling out the maximum number of flats under this scheme,” said an official. “People are admiring the features we have added this time, the quality of construction, and the common areas we have developed. Emphasis is being given to develop other infrastructure facilities in and around the complexes in Narela,” said an official.
