The Meta-owned instant messaging application WhatsApp is reportedly releasing a feature that adds a shortcut to open AI-powered chats from the Chats tab

“After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.26 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out a new shortcut to open AI chats,” WABetaInfo reported.
According to the report, a new button is located in the Chats tab above the icon to start new chats. With this button, it’s possible to quickly open the AI-powered chats, making the process faster and even more convenient for users.
It’s important to note that AI-powered chats are still currently accessible to a specific group of users, and the exact date for a broader release remains unknown. However, there are ongoing plans to extend this feature to a wider audience in the future.
By introducing a dedicated shortcut, users can quickly access AI-powered chats directly from the Chats Tab without opening the contact list.

“We believe that this process significantly reduces the time and effort required to initiate these specialized conversations. In addition, placing the shortcut prominently in the Chats tab ensures that users are aware of this feature and incorporate AI-assisted interactions into their regular use of the messaging app,” WABetaInfo said.
The feature that adds a shortcut to open AI-powered chats from the Chats tab is available to some beta testers who install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has rolled out a new Privacy Checkup feature on Android and iOS devices, which enables users to conveniently customise their security preferences.
