Sensex Today: Domestic markets opened with fractional losses on Wednesday, tracking weakness across their global peers as investors await the inflation data in the US later today. The BSE Sensex index dipped 157 points to 67,063, while the Nifty50 index retreated 26 points to 19,966.

HCL Tech, TCS, HDFC Life, Asian Paints, Wipro, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Adani Ports were the leading laggards across the two benchmarks. while Power Grid, Dr Reddy’s, Sun Pharma, BPCL, ONGC, M&M and Tata Motors were the top gainers.

The broader markets were mixed. The BSE MidCap index was flat while the SmallCap index rose 0.8 per cent, slightly recovering from its 4 per cent slump the previous day.
