Legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar was presented with a ‘Golden Ticket’ for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah.
BCCI took to social media platform ‘X’ to post a photo of Shah presenting the ‘Golden Ticket’ to Tendulkar. As part of the ‘Golden Ticket for India Icons’ programme, Tendulkar received the ‘Golden Ticket’ during a special presentation.
“An iconic moment for cricket and the nation! As part of our “Golden Ticket for India Icons” programme, BCCI Honorary Secretary @JayShah presented the golden ticket to Bharat Ratna Shri @sachin_rt. A symbol of cricketing excellence and national pride, Sachin Tendulkar’s journey has inspired generations. Now, he’ll be part of the @ICC @cricketworldcup 2023, witnessing the action LIVE,” posted BCCI.
This move comes after iconic Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan was presented with the ‘Golden Ticket’ by Shah.

The 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is set to be hosted by India from October 5 to November 19, 2023. The tournament will feature ten teams, including Australia, England, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and New Zealand.

The World Cup will kick off with England taking on New Zealand. Hosts India will begin their campaign against five-time World Cup winners Australia on October 8. The first semi-final is scheduled for November 15, followed by the second semi-final on November 16, and the final match on November 19.
India also released their 15-member squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup with opening batter Rohit Sharma set to lead the Men in Blue.
