At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold price edged higher by Rs 400 to trade at Rs 56,255 per 10 grams (24-carat) on Saturday. In the previous session, the precious metal closed at Rs 55,855 per 10 grams.
Likewise, the silver also rose on MCX, quoting Rs 65,600 per kg on Saturday against the previous day’s closing of Rs 65,021 per kg.
In the international market, gold prices on Friday logged their third straight weekly dip, weighed down by a stronger dollar and bond yields following fresh hawkish rhetoric from U.S. Federal Reserve officials.
Spot gold on Friday, however, was up 0.1 percent at $1,839.09 per ounce, after earlier falling to its lowest since late December. Prices have fallen 1.4 percent so far this week. US gold futures fell 0.8 percent to $1,838.40.
