At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold price softened by Rs 92 to trade at Rs 56,760 per 10 grams (24-carat) on Saturday. In the previous session, the precious metal closed at Rs 56,852 per 10 grams.
Likewise, the silver also fell on MCX, quoting Rs 72,500 per kag against the previous day’s closing of Rs 73,500 per kg on Saturday.
In the global market, gold inched higher on Friday while markets awaited next week’s US inflation data that could influence the US Fed’s monetary policy trajectory.

Spot gold rose 0.2 percent to $1,864.10 per ounce. US gold futures for February delivery settled 0.2 percent lower at $1,874.50 per ounce.
