In the national capital, gold price (24-carat) rose by Rs 400 to Rs 57,590 per 10 grams on Sunday. In the previous trade, the precious metal closed at Rs 57,190 per 10 grams. While, gold price of 22-carat purity stood at Rs 52,800 per 10 grams, showing a rise of Rs 420 over its previous close.
Prices of the precious metal are likely to go higher amid its safe heaven appeal among investors amid volatile equity market conditions, experts said. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on US Fed meeting and Union Budget, which will also play a key role in impacting commodity market sentiment, they said.
