The Private and Unaided Schools Association, Uttar Pradesh gave the final nod to the decision for a fee hike. School fees will increase by 11.69% in every class from the next academic session.
The fee hike will be implemented from April 1, 2023. During Covid-19, the UP government imposed a ban on fee hikes, after which they were hiked for the first time this year.
Now, a fee hike is taking place next year as well.
According to the Uttar Pradesh Fee Regulation Act 2018, fees can be increased by adding 5% to the CPI in the annual composite fee in private schools of Uttar Pradesh.
The CPI for the current session 2022-2023 is 6.69%. As per the Act, the school fees can be hiked only up to 6.69% + 5% i.e. a total of 11.69%. This shows that schools can increase the fees in the next session.
