New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices have remained unchanged since late May this year, when finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a cut in excise duties on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre respectively. On Sunday too, there was no revision in the fuel prices across metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata.
State-run oil marketing companies like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) update the fuel prices daily in line with international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates. The prices are updated at 6 am daily.

There has been no change in fuel prices for over five months now.
Petrol in the national capital is being sold at Rs 96.72 per litre while diesel costs Rs 89.62 per litre. A litre of petrol costs Rs 106.31 and one litre of diesel Rs 97.28 in Mumbai. In Kolkata, the price of one litre of petrol is Rs 102.63 while that of a litre of diesel is Rs 92.76. In Chennai, diesel costs Rs 94.24 per litre and petrol Rs 102.63 today. Petrol price in Bengaluru is Rs 101.94 per litre while diesel is priced at Rs 87.89.
Residents of Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar are still paying the highest fuel prices in India priced at Rs 113.49 a litre and diesel Rs 98.24 per litre.
