Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday announced an additional feature of the Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana in which Aadhaar cards for children upto 5 years will be made within the comforts of their home.

AADHAAR CARD AT HOME

A toll-free number 14545 has been rolled out to book appointments based on which the Mitan Yojana volunteers will visit the place. They will check for the relevant documents and information for the registration process. Once the registration is complete, the Aadhaar card will reach the beneficiary in a few days.

To facilitate and spread awareness about the additional feature of the scheme, a stall has also been put up for thousands of people who are coming from across the nation.

Speaking to India Today, Mitan CEO, Tarun, simplified the whole process and said, “The ration card, CGSS/state government/ ECHS/ ESIC/ medical card, army canteen card, passport, birth certificate, are mandatory for registration. At the time of Aadhaar registration of children, the Aadhaar number and biometric of any one of the parents will also be mandatory.”

We have already registered more than 50 children today, he added.

The parent of a 3-month-old infant who got the Aadhaar card opined, “It’s a good additional feature to the Mitan Yojana. Now, we won’t have to roam around the govt offices for days to get it done. They have cut the chase and made it very convenient for the parents.”

Currently, the scheme has been rolled out in 14 municipal corporations.
