Meta owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is set to bring 5 useful and exciting features to improve users’ experience. The messaging app keeps introducing new and useful features frequeently to make it a go-to messaging platform. Over the years, we have seen a number of improvements and upgrades. The platform announced a security boost a few months back bringing in features like leave groups silently, hiding online active status, two step verification and others. 1. An app sidebar and status reply for WhatsApp for Windows
WhatsApp is reportedly planning to bring an app sidebar as well as status replies for Windows Beta. The new development has been reported by WhatsApp development tracker Wabetainfo. The report says WhatsApp is releasing this feature to the most recent 2.2240.1.0 update that has already been issued last week to some beta testers. The new app sidebar will let users reach status updates, settings, and their profile.
2. iPhone like edit sent messages
Meta-owned instant messaging app is reportedly working on a new feature that will let you edit the sent text messages. This means, you won’t have to worry about typing errors anymore. The development has been reported by WhatsApp development tracker WABetaInfo. The report says, ?the label ?Edited? will show up when a message has been edited.?
3. Ability to detect links within the caption of status updates
WhatsApp is rolling out this new feature on a new updated version 2.22.22.11 through the Google Play Beta Program. The feature enables users to open a link within the caption of the status update. Earlier WhatsApp did not support links included in a caption of status updates.
4. Blocking screenshot of ?View Once? file
The app is bringing a new privacy feature that will make the media files like photos and videos shared as ?View Once? more secure. Whatsapp will restrict users from taking screenshots of the View Once media files. This way, the media file shared with others will become more secure and safe. As per a report in WABetaInfo, the instant-messaging platform has rolled out the feature in WhatsApp update version 2.22.22.3 for Android beta as well as iOS beta users only.
5. WhatsApp group gets bigger
WhatsApp is working to expand its group member capacity limit allowing users to add as many as 1024 people in a single WhatsApp group. Earlier it used to be 512. It is now rolling out to some users even on the stable release of the app and will probably reach more people over the coming weeks.
