New Delhi: From earning a Rs 500 salary once to earning a seven-figure salary today, mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan now lives a luxury lifestyle and is the proud owner of four bungalows in Mumbai. The ‘Angry Young Man’ who turned 80 on Tuesday, reportedly makes around Rs 60 crores annually with a net worth of Rs 3,500 crores.
On the occasion of Bachchan’s 80th birthday, a special film festival – ‘Bachchan Back to the Beginning’ is being organised from October 8 to October 11. Here’s a look at Big B luxurious life.
Big B’s net worth
Making Rs 60 crore in a year, Amitabh Bachchan’s net worth is $410 million or Rs 3,396 crore, according to Prabhat Khabar. Big B’s sources of income include films and brand endorsements. While Amitabh Bachchan charges around Rs 6 crore for a film, he charges Rs 5 crore for brand endorsements.
Other than this, the 80-yaer-old actor has also invested in the real estate business and has invested money in US tech startups including Just Dial.

Amitabh Bachchan has four bungalows in Mumbai – Jalsa, Janak, Pratiksha, Vats. The actor lives with his family in Jalsa located in Juhu area of Mumbai, the cost of which is said to be around Rs 100 crore. His second bungalow Pratiksha is estimated to be worth Rs 160 crore. He has an office in Janak. Along with this, he has an ancestral residence in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, which the actor has transformed into an educational trust.
According to media reports, Amitabh Bachchan also has a property in France.
Apart from being the owner of four bungalows, the ‘Shahenshah’ actor also has a painting of a bull at his residence, made by Manjit Bawa (1941-2008). The price of this painting of Amitabh hanging in the living room of Jalsa is Rs 4 crore, according to a report in Dainika Bhaskar.
Apart from the painting, Big B also owns a big luxury car collection, having a total of 11 luxury cars including Lexus, Rolls Royal Phantom, 2 BMW, 3 Mercedes. Big B considers the number 2 lucky and so all of his cars have 2 digits in their numbers. The white colored Rolls Royal Phantom vehicle was gifted to him by producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra for his superb acting in the film ‘Eklavya’. This is the most expensive car in his car collection, worth nearly Rs 9 to 11 crores.
Amitabh Bachchan is one of the few celebrities in India who also own a private jet, the price of which is Rs 260 crore, according to several reports.
While he has risen from the ground to the top, the actor was once about to go bankrupt in 1999. His son and actor Abhishek Bachchan had in an interview told that he had to leave his college studies midway because Amitabh’s financial condition was very bad.
