In the beginning, when the World Wide Web (WWW) came into existence, no one would have imagined this world would be connected with social media. Social media sites have helped us stay connected with our dear ones across the globe in various modes of communication like messages, video calls, voice calls and DMs. We share pictures, documents, and locations through these applications.
Instagram has more than two billion active users and people get connected through messaging, video chats, and posts. There is a unique feature which the user should know called silent messages. The application allows users to send silent messages. This will notify your friends without disturbing them when they are busy.
STEPS TO SEND SILENT MESSAGES ON INSTAGRAM:
Step 1: Open your Instagram account on your device like a phone, laptop or desktop.
Step 2: Now choose the message icon present in the top right corner of the app.
Step 3: Search for the person to whom you want to send the message by tapping on his/her chat.
Step 4: While beginning the chat, type @silent in front of the text. For e.g, @silent- >space- >message i.e @silent Hi.
Step 5: After the message is typed, click on the send icon.
Step 6: The message will be delivered without disturbing the person.
Note: The mute chat option is different from the silent messages. Even the messages can be muted on the side of the receiver, but the silent messages can only be sent by the senders’ side.
