It is the first Ekadashi celebration after the Hindu New Year festivities. Hindus observe this day to honour Sri Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. As it follows the Navratri celebrations, it’s also known as Chaitra Shukla Ekadashi. The term “Kamada” means “fulfilment of desires” and devotees believe that observing Kamada Ekadashi fulfils all worldly desires. Varuthini Ekadashi 2025 Significance: Varuthini Ekadashi, also known as Baruthani Ekadasi is a significant Hindu festival observed on the 11th day of the Krishna Paksha in the Vaishakha or Chaitana month. Devotees celebrate this day by fasting and offering prayers to seek Lord Vishnu’s blessings. The term ‘Varuthini’ translates to ‘protected’ or ‘armoured’, symbolising the protective benefits of observing this festival.
