Netflix is giving its users more reasons to opt for the premium monthly plan which gives you 4K quality and streaming on multiple devices.
Netflix now offers HDR10+ streaming for more accurate and dynamic image quality. Customers with a streaming subscription that qualifies will be able to watch films and TV series in higher definition, with more vivid colours and contrast. Additionally, the streaming service plans to add more HDR10+ content to its catalogue. The AV1 media codec, which provides effective bandwidth consumption on compatible devices, is also used by Netflix.

The streaming platform declared in a blog post that HDR10+ content is now available for streaming. Content can be streamed on compatible TVs and streaming devices by customers with the most expensive Netflix package. The dynamic range and visual quality of HDR10+ content are better than those of HDR10 content.
One of the most crucial features of HDR10+ content is dynamic metadata, which enables the device to automatically alter the image quality in real time depending on each scene. In contrast, HDR10 uses a one-size-fits-all strategy that fails to produce the same contrast and vivid colours as HDR10+ content.

The streaming platform states that the AV1 video codec will be used to offer HDR10+ content to these devices. In contrast to other codecs, this effective one uses less data, allowing Netflix to deliver high-quality videos with minimal buffering on slower networks. Since November 2021, Netflix has been using AV1 for standard dynamic range (SDR) video.

You must have a Netflix Premium subscription plan in order to stream HDR10+ content which costs Rs 649 per month in India. You can access up to four devices and watch content in 4K (Ultra HD) and HDR quality with this package. And yes, you will need a smart TV that supports HDR10+ video or a streaming device like a tablet or smartphone.
