Weather Update: The summer heat is gradually increasing across North India. From today onwards, regions including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience a sharp rise in temperature. With clear skies and strong sunlight, the mercury is likely to climb steadily. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand over the next two days.

North India to Face Intense Heat
The heatwave is gaining momentum across North India. Starting today, areas from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi will experience a surge in temperatures. Clear weather and bright sunshine will contribute to the rising heat. According to IMD, there is no sign of relief from the soaring temperatures in the next six days.

Snowfall Expected in Jammu, Kashmir, and Himachal
IMD predicts that over the next 48 hours, parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will experience snowfall along with rain. This weather disturbance may also bring light to moderate showers with thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.
Pitampura Recorded as the Hottest Spot in Delhi
On Friday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 32.8 degrees C, which is 1.5 degrees C above the seasonal average. The minimum temperature stood at 16.5 degrees C. The Ridge area and Pitampura emerged as the hottest zones, with Pitampura recording the highest temperature of 34.2 degrees C. The humidity levels in Delhi ranged between 84% and 24% during the day.

Delhi’s Air Quality Shows Improvement
Delhi’s air quality remains relatively clean despite the rising heat. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) on Friday was recorded at 144, falling under the “moderate” category. This marks an improvement from Thursday, where the AQI stood at 156. Other cities in the NCR region are also experiencing air quality levels ranging from “satisfactory” to “moderate.”
