Chartered Speed To Roll Out 900+ Electric Buses Across India Under Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme

Chartered Speed, one of India’s leading bus transport companies, has secured a major contract from Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to operate over 900 electric buses.

These eco-friendly buses will be introduced under the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme in 13 cities across Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Meghalaya.

The initiative aims to serve more than 2.9 lakh passengers daily while generating over 2,000 new jobs.

Cities Set to Benefit from E-Buses

The new electric bus fleet will enhance urban transport in the following cities:

  • Chhattisgarh – Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, Bilaspur, Korba
  • Rajasthan – Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur
  • Meghalaya – Shillong

Speaking about this achievement, Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director of Chartered Speed, said: “Through our participation in the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme, we are transitioning from a traditional engine vehicle to a cutting-edge fleet of electric buses, revolutionizing urban mobility with cleaner, more sustainable solutions.”

Chartered Speed is gradually shifting from diesel-powered buses to green fuel alternatives. The company currently operates over 1,800 buses in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam, serving 3.5 lakh passengers daily with the support of 4,800 employees.
