PMI Scheme 2025: The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has announced over 3,100 paid internships in information technology (IT) and software development under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS). The Centre announced this initiative in collaboration with India’s top companies.
“The Prime Minister Internship Scheme brings over 3,100 internships in IT and software development with top companies of India. Build your future in information/cybersecurity, sales and marketing, finance accounting, and more,” the ministry said in a post on X.
The interns will be offered a monthly financial assistance of Rs 5000 along with a one-time assistance of Rs 6,000 through the initiative aimed at providing a platform to youngsters to enhance their skills and gain experience.
The interns will also get a certificate upon successful completion of the 12-month internship.

The government is also mulling several changes in PMIS. It is planning to recommend candidates from the same state where the unit is located, as many people are unwilling to travel to far away places, Financial Express reported.
Under the current provision, candidates are required to register themselves at an online portal to avail the opportunity. Their profiles are then scanned for suitable allotments. The companies have no role in these selections.
According to the ministry, eligible youth can select internships based on their preferred district, state, sector and field. They can also filter internships within a customizable radius from their current address.
After the success of round one, which attracted over six lakh applications, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, last month, announced that applications for the second round of the PM Internship Scheme were open. Top companies across 730 districts in India participated in the initiative.
