According to the Hindu calendar, Navratri is celebrated four times a year, comprising two direct and two Gupt Navratris. Like the Prakat Navratri, Gupt Navratri is observed twice annually; once in the Magh month and once in the Ashadh month.
During Gupt Navratri, it is customary to worship the 10 Mahavidyas. Religious beliefs hold that worshipping the goddesses secretly during Gupt Navratri can lead to the attainment of Siddhis. This Navratri is primarily observed by Aghoris and Tantrikas.
According to the Vedic calendar, the Gupt Navratri of the Magh month marks the last Navratri of the year, beginning on the Pratipada date of the Shukla Paksha in Magh.
Kashi’s astrologer, Swami Kanhaiya Maharaj, shared that this year the Pratipada date of Magh Shukla Paksha falls on January 30. The Gupt Navratri of Magh will start on this day and continue until February 7. This Navratri is celebrated in a secretive manner, with worship rituals performed discreetly.
