Bank Holidays: Will Banks Remain Open Or Closed On Jan 6, 2025? Check Details

With the New Year in, individuals can now plan their trades and banking appointments for 2025. However, before doing the same, it is crucial to understand if banks will remain functional throughout the coming week. The holiday list for banks is published by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) every year.

The month of January has 13 bank holidays. These include festivals, regional celebrations, Republic Day, and typical weekend leaves. Generally, banks are closed across the country on all Sundays and second and fourth Saturday. However, regional festival celebrations vary across states.

Will Banks Be Closed on Monday, Jan 6, 2025?

On Monday, banks in the Chandigarh area will remain closed for the public on the occasion of Sri Guru Gobind Singh’s Birthday. However, in rest of the country, it will be a regular working day for banks and customers will be able to access banking services without disruption.

Even during bank holidays, online banking services through websites and mobile apps remain completely operational. Customers can also access ATMs or mobile banking during this period. Any disruption in these facilites is always informed to the customers in advance.
