After the massive success of Kalki 2898 AD, fans have been eagerly waiting for the sequel. However, it looks like they will have to wait a little longer. Reportedly, the shoot for Kalki 2 was supposed to begin in the summer of 2025. However, it is now likely to be postponed.

Recently, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh held a private event in Mumbai where they introduced paparazzi to her daughter Dua. Now, several reports claim that during the event a media personnel asked Deepika about Kalki 2. To this, the actress stated that baby Dua was her top priority. She mentioned that she is not in a rush to resume her work commitments and does not want to leave her little princess with a nanny for now. “I will raise my daughter myself, just the way my mom raised me,” Deepika said at the event, as quoted by Bollywood Shaadis.

Deepika and Ranveer welcomed their daughter Dua Padukone Singh on September 8, 2024. They shared the news of their daughter’s arrival through a lovely post on social media. In November, the couple revealed that they have named her Dua, and explained its significance. “Dua Padukone Singh ‘Dua’ : meaning a Prayer. Because She is the Answer to our Prayers. Our hearts are filled with Love & Gratitude.Deepika & Ranveer,” they wrote.
Meanwhile, talking about Kalki 2898 AD, the film released on June 27 this year and also stars Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. The film gained an overwhelming response from the audience and earned over Rs 1000 crore at the worldwide box office.

Previously, director Nag Ashwin lauded Deepika’s natural instinct for her character in ‘Kalki,’ stating, “She is the most important part of the story. We had a lot of discussions on it when we were writing as well. I think the simplest answer that we arrived at was whose character do you remove and the story does not exist? And that became Deepika’s character. Because if you remove her character, there is no story. There is no Kalki.”
