The Narendra Modi government will launch a single nationwide toll-free number for farmers in 2025, with a 100-seater call centre to come up in Delhi-NCR.

As per details with CNN-News18, the project will be operational soon. This will create a single contact helpline number to address farmer grievances with respect to schemes implemented in the agriculture sector by the central government and state/UT governments, provide information related to various ongoing schemes regarding farmers, and help the Centre improve farmers services by resolving grievances in a timely manner.
The move is significant amidst demands by farmers in Punjab and Haryana for a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP). PM-Kisan is another big scheme regarding which farmers lodge many grievances, as per the experience so far.

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had first in August announced plans for such a helpline. His ministry is now planning to seal bids for the project early next year. The Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd has expressed interest in executing the project.
How it will work
The helpline number will be accessible through landline as well as mobile numbers of all telecom networks from 6 am to 10 pm on all seven days of the week to address farmer grievances. The toll-free number will enable farmers to register the grievances in 22 official languages.
The service will also act as a tool for awareness-raising among farmers and officials about warranted situations affecting crops or livestock.

The proposed location of the Farmers Grievance Redressal System is Delhi-NCR. The calls initiated by farmers from a state/UT shall land to the Grievance Tele Advisors (GTAs) assigned for that particular state/UT in the Farmers Grievance Redressal System.
An outbound call facility shall be established in the Integrated Command & Control Centre at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi, to facilitate the officers of different divisions of Agriculture Ministry to make calls to randomly selected farmers and get feedback on the grievances resolved by the officers of Agriculture Ministry.
