PM Surya Ghar Yojana: Grant Up to ₹78,000 to Reduce Electricity Bills

The Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana is a transformative initiative to promote clean energy and reduce electricity bills for households across India. It aims to install 1 crore rooftop solar panels in residential areas by 2027, with significant subsidies for eligible beneficiaries.

Key Highlights of the Scheme

Grant Details:

  • 1 kW Solar Panel: ₹30,000 subsidy.
  • 2 kW Solar Panel: ₹60,000 subsidy.
  • 3 kW Solar Panel: ₹78,000 subsidy.
  • 40% of the installation cost is directly credited to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.

Target Beneficiaries:

  • States like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and northeastern regions have seen high adoption rates.
  • Gujarat leads with maximum installations, followed by Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Kerala.

How to Apply:

  • Submit an online application with the required documents.
  • A designated officer will inspect the residence. Upon verification, the solar panel installation process begins.

  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Proof of Address.
  • Ration Card.
  • Latest Electricity Bill.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Bank Account Passbook.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Passport-sized Photograph.
