The OnePlus 13 series winter launch event has officially been confirmed. On January 7, 2025, OnePlus will take the wraps off the much-anticipated OnePlus 13 and the OnePlus 13R smartphones for global markets including India. The OnePlus 13 has already launched in China. There is enough evidence that the global and India-bound model should be carrying similar hardware. The OnePlus 13R is a new entrant, we know not a lot about at the time of writing.

OnePlus 13 series winter launch event: What to expect
The OnePlus 13 will be the showstopper at the event. The flagship OnePlus smartphone will be available in three colours globally, much like how things are in China. These are Midnight Ocean, Black Eclipse, and Arctic Dawn. The Midnight Ocean variant—which is the hero colour this year—has a micro-fibre vegan leather finish, which is a first for the company. The OnePlus 13 is also the first OnePlus phone to secure both IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it resistant to dust, water, and even high-pressure water jets. OnePlus has confirmed these details before launch.
More details are expected to follow in the coming days, but the core hardware should be mostly similar to the OnePlus 13 from China. One of its most sought-after specs is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. OnePlus pairs it with up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage in China. Software is Oppo’s ColorOS 15 but the global variant should be getting OxygenOS 15.
The OnePlus 13 sold in China has flagship display credentials. It features a 6.82-inch 2K (1440p) BOE LTPO AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits of peak HDR brightness supporting Dolby Vision. For photography, it has a triple-camera setup with a mix of 50MP LYT-808 main sensor with an f/1.6 optically stabilised lens, another 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 3x telephoto camera with OIS. The front camera is a 32MP shooter.
Powering the phone is a massive 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support baked in. Biometrics are handled by an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
The OnePlus 13 is likely to be joined by the OnePlus 13R, a more affordable option in the lineup, expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and more. Stay tuned for all the latest news from the OnePlus 13 series winter launch event.
