Many people step out of their homes to attend parties at hotels, restaurants, and other venues, and purchase alcohol in large quantities for celebrations with friends. This increased demand also results in significant revenue for the Excise Department, which is reportedly one of the reasons behind the decision to extend opening hours.

However, the period also sees a rise in accidents, as some individuals choose to drink and drive. To address this issue, a significant police presence is deployed on the roads during this time.

Authorities urge everyone to celebrate responsibly and strictly avoid drinking and driving.
