Cold weather conditions persisted in parts of north and west India, with significant drops in mercury levels across Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 4.9°C, 3.1 notches below normal, while the maximum temperature was 23.2°C. The IMD forecast moderate fog for Monday, with temperatures expected to range between 5°C and 23°C.

Punjab reels under coldwave
In Punjab, Faridkot registered the lowest regional temperature at 1°C, while Gurdaspur, Bathinda, and Amritsar recorded lows of 2°C, 4.6°C, and 3.9°C, respectively. Haryana also experienced biting cold, with Hisar at 1.7°C and Narnaul at 3°C. Chandigarh, the shared capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded 4.8°C.
Rajasthan remained in the grip of cold waves, with Fatehpur experiencing sub-zero temperatures at -1.2°C for the third consecutive day. Churu, Bhilwara, and Alwar also recorded minimum temperatures between 1.6°C and 4°C.

Kashmir and Himachal see temporary respite
Kashmir experienced a slight respite from the intense cold as minimum temperatures rose. Srinagar recorded -3.4°C, an improvement from the previous night’s -4.6°C, while Gulmarg and Pahalgam also saw marginal increases. However, the meteorological department warned of a cold wave likely to return over the next three days, predicting further drops in temperatures.
In Himachal Pradesh, the higher reaches experienced a temperature rise of 3–5°C, while cold wave conditions persisted in the lower hills. Tabo recorded the lowest temperature at -10.6°C, while Shimla was relatively warm at 12.2°C. The weather office issued a yellow warning for cold wave conditions in Una, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur, forecasting dry weather for the next seven days.

Heavy rainfall in parts of Tamil Nadu
Light to moderate rain is expected at a few locations across Tamil Nadu, with more widespread activity over Coastal Tamil Nadu and isolated spots in Interior Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and the Karaikal region on Monday, according to the IMD. Thunderstorms and lightning may also occur at isolated places.
On Tuesday, heavy rain is likely at a few places in the districts of Ramanathapuram, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Mayiladuthurai in Tamil Nadu, as well as the Karaikal region.
For Wednesday, isolated areas in Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Cuddalore, and Mayiladuthurai districts of Tamil Nadu, along with Karaikal, are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rain.
Additionally, heavy rain may occur at one or two locations in Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Tiruchirappalli, Villuppuram, Chengalpattu, and Kallakurichi districts of Tamil Nadu, as well as in Puducherry.
