Speed limits for light and heavy vehicles on the Yamuna Expressway and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway have been lowered starting Sunday, multiple media reports have said. The revised speed limits aim to address the heightened risk of accidents during winter, when dense fog and slippery roads significantly reduce visibility and driving safety.
Yamuna Expressway: Reduced speed limit
The speed limit for light vehicles has been reduced from 100 km/h to 75 km/h, while heavy vehicles must now adhere to a limit of 60 km/h, down from the previous 80 km/h.
Noida Expressway: Reduced speed limit
The speed limit for light vehicles has been lowered from 100 km/h to 75 km/h, while for heavy vehicles, it has been reduced from 60 km/h to 50 km/h.

Know about the fines
Violators of the revised speed limits on the Yamuna Expressway and Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will face hefty fines. Light vehicle drivers will be fined Rs 2,000, while heavy vehicle drivers will incur double the penalty, amounting to Rs 4,000.
The revised speed limits will remain in effect until February 15, 2025, covering the peak winter season when road conditions are particularly hazardous. To enforce compliance, new signboards have been installed along the expressways, and fog lights have been added to enhance visibility.
