Indore’s 4.5 Lakh Consumers Get Electricity At ₹1 Per Unit Under Atal Griha Jyoti Yojana Scheme

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): During the last month, 31.85 lakh consumers have been benefited from the Atal Griha Jyoti Yojana scheme by West Zone Electricity Distribution Company and electricity up to the first hundred units has been provided at Re 1 per unit.

A subsidy of Rs 148 crore has been provided in a month. Indore’s 4.5 lakh consumers received benefit under the scheme. Managing director of MP West Zone Electricity Distribution Company Rajni Singh said that Atal Griha Jyoti Yojana is being seriously implemented in 8 districts of Indore region and 7 districts of Ujjain region and subsidy is being given to every eligible consumer.

Under the scheme, electricity up to the first hundred units is provided to the consumers at Rs 1 per unit, the remaining bill amount is received by the company as subsidy from the government. She said that 4.50 lakh domestic electricity consumers in Indore district have been given the benefit of the scheme and they have been given subsidy of more than Rs 18.50 crore. 3.15 lakh consumers in Dhar district have been given Rs 17 crore, 2.87 lakh consumers in Ujjain district have been given Rs 13.33 crore, 2.81 lakh consumers in Khargone district have been given Rs 13.39 crore, 2.35 lakh consumers in Ratlam district have been given subsidy of Rs 11.33 crore in one month.

Similarly, 2.30 lakh consumers in Mandsaur have been given Rs 10.61 crore, 2.23 lakh consumers in Dewas have been given Rs 10.61 crore, 2.03 lakh consumers in Barwani have been given Rs 9.61 crore. In other districts, 88 thousand to 1.98 lakh consumers have been given subsidy of Rs 4 crore to Rs 8 crore in their electricity bills in a month.
