Arman Tsarukyan, the UFC number 1 in the lightweight category, is preparing for his championship bout against the reigning champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 311, on January 18, 2025. Although Makhachev came out on top the last time the two fighters faced off, the consensus is that Tsarukyan presents one of the toughest challenges to the champion in his decade-long career inside the Octagon. Ahead of his upcoming big event, Tsarukyan posted an amusing Instagram video, which has well over 6.5 million views.

The humour lies in the fact that in the clip, he gorges on a variety of junk foods, from burgers to French fries, while saying, “Diet starts tomorrow.” That playfulness seems to have hit a chord with his fans, who reacted with equally hilarious comments. A fan said, “Champ mindset—work hard, eat harder!”

Tsarukyan, with a 9-1 record in the UFC, is on a four-fight winning streak. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Tsarukyan talked about his plans for the future and seemed to leave the door open for a trilogy if he could defeat Makhachev. He added that due to Ramadan, that would be around May.

Makhachev is defending his lightweight title for the first time since he won it and Tsarukyan aims to dethrone him to become the new champion.
