IRCTC Super App features

A number of current services run by several apps will be combined into the proposed mega app. In addition to purchasing platform passes, booking both reserved and unreserved tickets, and tracking trains in real time, passengers will also have access to feedback and food services. This will eliminate the need to use several apps, including Rail Madad, UTS, and IRCTC Rail Connect.

IRCTC will continue to play its long-standing role in railway ticketing as the interface for reserved ticket bookings. It is anticipated that passengers will experience smooth service across all functionalities thanks to the integration between IRCTC and CRIS. By combining these services into a one, easily accessible platform, the app also gives IRCTC the chance to increase its revenue streams.

The development of the super app would be spearheaded by CRIS, the company that creates Indian Railways’ IT systems. The deployment, which is anticipated to take place in December, is a major step in enhancing passenger convenience. CRIS hopes to facilitate a seamless transition to this single application by drawing on its previous experience developing and overseeing railway-related systems.

The super app supports Indian Railways’ objective of improving passengers’ digital experiences. Millions of passengers are anticipated to benefit from a single platform, which will lessen their dependency on several apps for railway-related services. With its ticketing systems smoothly integrating into the new platform, IRCTC will continue to play a crucial role.
