India’s highest-ranked T20 batter

After his super performance in the four-match T20I series between India and South Africa, Tilak jumped 69 places to become the world No. 3 T20 batter in the latest ICC rankings released on Wednesday (November 20). During the bilateral series, apart from his twin centuries, Tilak scored 33 and 20 runs in the first two matches. He finished the overseas assignment with a total of 280 runs in four matches. The total of 280 helped Tilak break Virat Kohli’s record of most runs in a bilateral T20I series by an Indian batter. Kohli had amassed a total of 231 runs in a five-match T20I series played against England in March 2021.
