Mahakumbh 2025: IRCTC to set up tent city at Prayagraj – Here’s how much it costs per night

The initiative’s focus is to integrate spiritual immersion with modern comforts and is expected to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience.

The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) is all set to set up a luxury tent city, Maha Kumbh Gram in Prayagraj for the highly anticipated Mahakumbh Mela 2025. The initiative’s focus is to integrate spiritual immersion with modern comforts and is expected to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience. IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Kumar Jain highlighted that the project seeks to boost the pilgrimage experience. ”Our goal is to provide a comfortable, accessible, and enriching experience for all the visitors”, he stated that the tent city will reflect India’s spiritual and cultural richness.

Luxury meets tradition

The tent city will offer deluxe and premium accommodations which will be equipped with modern amenities and will ensure that guests are able to enjoy a blend of comfort and spirituality. Rahul Himalian, Director (Tourism & Marketing) at IRCTC mentioned that the tents will also provide a high level of comfort amidst the Mahakumbh’s serene spiritual atmosphere. Visitors can expect amenities like customized hospitality services, premium bedding, and hygiene facilities.

Costs of the luxury tent

The cost for the stay begins from Rs 6,000 per person per night (excluding taxes) on a double occupancy basis, breakfast will be included. The initiative also aligns with the IRCTC’s expertise in handling large-scale pilgrimage tourism. It has a record of managing large-scale pilgrimage tourism and has served more than 6.5 lakh customers with services like Aastha and Bharat Gaurav Trains.
