IndiGo issued a travel advisory alerting passengers about potential delays due to foggy conditions in the national capital. In a post on X, the airline urged travelers to allocate extra time for their journey and check their flight status before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience.
“Fog is currently affecting visibility in Delhi, which may result in slow-moving traffic and delays in flight schedules. We recommend allowing extra travel time and checking flight status before starting your journey. Safe travels!” the post on X mentioned.

Spicejet issues travel advisory
SpiceJet notified passengers through a post on X that flight schedules, including both departures and arrivals, may face disruptions due to current conditions. The airline advised travelers to stay informed about their flight status to avoid any inconvenience.

Delhi airport implements ‘low visibility procedures’

This is in response to the reduced visibility conditions in Delhi due to deteriorating air quality which may affect flight schedules and operations.
“Low visibility procedures are in progress at Delhi Airport. All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information”, Delhi Airport said in a post on X.

GRAP-IV comes in effect as AQI crosses 450 mark
The Delhi government has directed the implementation of Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) starting Monday after the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital crossed the critical 450 mark on Sunday, entering the ‘Severe+’ category.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s daily average AQI surged to 441 by 4 PM on Sunday and further deteriorated to 457 by 7 PM. This alarming rise in pollution levels triggered an emergency meeting of the GRAP Sub-Committee, which decided to escalate the pollution control measures to Stage IV to mitigate the worsening air quality.
“Keeping in view the prevailing trend of deteriorating air quality of NCR, and to prevent further deterioration of air quality in the region, the Sub-Committee today has taken the call to invoke all actions as envisaged under Stage-IV of GRAP – ‘Severe+’ Air Quality (Delhi’s AQI > 450), w.e.f. 08:00 AM of 18.11.2024 (tomorrow) in the entire NCR,” the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) said in a statement.
What is GRAP-4?
The Stage-IV response includes an 8-point action plan aimed at addressing the severe pollution levels in Delhi. Among the key measures is the restriction on non-essential truck traffic entering the city, with exceptions made for vehicles transporting essential goods or providing vital services. These actions are part of a broader effort to control emissions and improve air quality, as the city grapples with a critical air pollution crisis.
