Sabarimala Darshan Time: In order to better control the crowds during the pilgrimage season, the Sabarimala Temple officials have shortened the daily darshan (seeing of the deity) duration to eighteen hours. PS Prashanth, the president of the Sabarimala Devaswom Board, affirmed that beginning with the start of the pilgrimage season, darshan hours will be from 3 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 11 pm daily.
Since the temple is expected to receive over 80,000 devotees per day, the decision attempts to optimise the pilgrimage flow. Ten thousand of these will be able to make reservations on the spot, while the rest 70,000 will obtain darshan via the virtual queue system.
At strategic points like Pampa, Erumeli, and Vandiperiyar, a number of counters have been erected to make on-site reservations easier.

Pilgrims who choose spot booking will be required to provide their Aadhaar card as proof of identity. Seven separate counters have been established in Pampa to handle these bookings. In addition, for the first time, Pampa will have parking spots for 1,500 compact vehicles. Parking will be permitted at Pampail Chukkupalam and Hilltop.
The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will now allow online booking of tickets for pilgrims traveling to Sabarimala, in an effort to make their journey more convenient. Pilgrims can now purchase KSRTC tickets when they reserve their darshan through the virtual line system.
