Kerala Namo Bharat Trains: In an effort to improve intercity connections and encourage environmentally friendly travel throughout the state, Kerala is getting ready to introduce ten new Vande Bharat trains branded as Namo Bharat. Known for their luxury and efficiency, these air-conditioned trains can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h and are furnished with modern amenities like CCTV and automated sliding doors.
The introduction of these trains is expected to improve travel for both residents and visitors by providing a cost-effective and environmentally responsible means of seeing Kerala’s natural and cultural heritage.

Train Routes And Stops
The new Vande Bharat trains will run on many routes in Kerala and extend into Tamil Nadu. Two of the ten routes will run from Kollam to Thrissur and Tirunelveli, with the Thrissur route perhaps being extended to Guruvayur, a renowned pilgrimage site.
Other routes will connect Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam and Guruvayur to Madurai, giving travellers easy access to both major cities and lesser-known destinations. By establishing these links, officials hope to attract more people to underserved areas, generating opportunities for local businesses and tourism-related services.

To bring visitors closer to this culturally rich area, Kollam will be the stop for the Kollam-Thrissur and Kollam-Tirunelveli trains, as well as the Guruvayur-Madurai and Ernakulam-Thiruvananthapuram lines. Some routes, like those to Madurai and Tirunelveli, would cross the Kollam-Shenkottai line, a historic road that travels through forests and picturesque settings, including places like the Thenmala Dam, the Palaruvi Waterfalls, and Rosemala village.
