Chhath Puja 2024: Gaya, Patna Traffic Plan Released For November 7-8 | Check Routes, Restrictions, Parking Rules

Chhath Puja Traffic Plan For Gaya, Patna: The great celebration of Chhath Mahaparva began on Tuesday, with Nahay Khay. The four-day ritual will end on November 8. Gaya district has completed preparations for Chhath Mahaparva, and the Gaya Police have made significant upgrades to the city’s traffic infrastructure in expectation of massive crowds of devotees.

Gaya SSP Ashish Bharti has released a traffic plan indicating that all heavy vehicles would be strictly restricted from entering Gaya city between noon on November 7 and noon on November 8.

In preparation for the Chhath celebration in 2024, the following traffic limitations will be in force from November 7 to November 8:

  • At GB Road, vehicle entry will be absolutely restricted.
  • Entry into Chand Chaura East would be forbidden for all vehicles.
  • All cars will be prevented from entering Bengali Ashram and Vishnupad.
  • All vehicles, except two-wheelers, would be prevented from entering the Bata Mor-Tikari road.
  • Koyribadi Mor to Vishnupad: Every vehicle would be prevented from entering. Vehicles may be parked at the District School Gaya or Dharm Sabha Bhawan.
  • Vehicles will be prevented from crossing the Narayani Bridge to the Vishnupad Police Station. Vehicles can park near the bypass bridge.

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the Chhath Puja celebrations, a single route system would be adopted in Gaya city for vehicles traveling to Kenduy Ghat beginning at Sikadia Mor. After Chhath Puja, all vehicles traveling from Kenduy Ghat will return to Gaya along a specified route. This route will begin in Sikadia Mor, continue through Rajapur Mor, Node-2, Node-1, and ultimately arrive at Domuhaan.

Chhath Puja 2024: Patna Traffic Advisory

For the convenience of devotees, the Patna Traffic Police have released a traffic plan and route chart that details parking options for the Chhath Ghats. On November 7 and 8, Patna’s traffic system will undergo modifications.

Parking Spots

Patipul Ghat, Digha Ghat, Shiva Ghat and Minar Ghat: Vehicles can use the JP Setu approach road to access and depart these ghats from Rupaspur Canal Road. The unoccupied area beneath the railway bridge, from Surya Mandir Chohatta to Patipul underpass, is where devotees arriving from Ashoka Rajpath below Atal Path and from Digha Post Office Road can park their vehicles. From here, followers can walk to the ghat. Parking will also be accessible in the vacant lot east of Chouhatta’s Surya Mandir.

Gate number 93 (Digha) Ghat:  Entry will be permitted from gate number 93, with exit through gate number 92.

Gate number 88 and 83 Ghat:  Vehicles heading to these ghats can enter directly from Ashoka Rajpath and proceed through the Ganga Path underpass.

Kurji Ghat:  Vehicles travelling to this ghat should enter from Kurji turn and park in the designated parking area north of JP Ganga Path.

Pahelwan Ghat, Bansghat:  Vehicles going to these ghats can proceed straight from Ashoka Rajpath to the parking lot via the road from the JP Ganga Path underpass in the north.

Other parking areas include- Collectorate Ghat, Mahendu Ghat, Patna College, Science College.
