Delhi Metro Revises Tomorrow’s Schedule; Check Timings For Last Train On Diwali

The DMRC said the Metro will run as usual for the rest of the day on Diwali, adhering to its routine commencement hours on all lines

The Delhi Metro revised its schedule for Diwali, which will be celebrated on Thursday (October 31), making the timing for the last train to commence at 10 pm instead of the routine 11 pm.

On Wednesday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said its last Metro train service will commence at 10 pm, instead of 11 pm on the occasion of Diwali. This is for terminal stations of all lines, including the Airport Express Line, it said.

The DMRC further said the Metro will run as usual for the rest of the day on Diwali, adhering to its routine commencement hours on all lines. “On account of the Diwali festival, the last Metro train service on 31st October, 2024 (Thursday) will start at 10:00 PM from terminal stations of all Lines including Airport Express Line,” (sic) it said in a post on X.

It added: “Metro train services will run as usual for rest of the day on Diwali from routine commencement timings on all the Lines.” (sic)

Earlier in the week, to accommodate the Diwali rush, the DMRC also introduced 60 additional trips on Tuesday (October 29) and Wednesday (October 30). It wanted to enhance commuter convenience and ease congestion in view of the festive season, officials said.

It has urged people to commute using public transport to avoid traffic and pollution. According to officials, the Metro usually makes around 4,000 daily trips. “Whether you’re heading to festive markets, visiting friends and family, or simply exploring the city, avoid traffic and pollution by choosing the metro. Let’s make this festive season hassle-free and sustainable with every ride,” it had said.
