Ayodhya: The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is all set to organise the eighth Deepotsav in the holy city of Ayodhya this year. This Diwali is especially significant for the city, as it marks the first celebration at the newly built Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Preparations are underway to make the festival as grand as possible. This year’s Deepotsav will feature 18 vibrant tableaux portraying significant events from the life of Lord Ram.
The festivities serve as a spotlight on the lively cultural customs and intense commitment connected to this momentous occasion.

The display will revolve around pivotal moments such as Lord Ram’s education, his marriage to Sita, his years in exile, his reunion with Bharat, the Shabari story, the presence in Ashok Vatika, Hanuman’s journey to Lanka, Lakshman being felled by the Shakti arrow, the vanquishing of Ravana, and Lord Ram’s triumphant return to Ayodhya. All these will culminate in the grand Deepotsav celebrations.
The Tourism Office will place a spotlight on the seven fascinating segments of Tulsikrit Ram Charit Manas. These include: Bal Kand, Ayodhya Kand, Aranya Kand, Sundar Kand, Kishkindha Kand, Lanka Kand, and Uttar Kand.
Ayodhya’s Municipal Commissioner shared the details about this year’s event, stating, “We are preparing 18 tableaux. The new feature in this year’s celebrations is that this is a green initiative. All the tableaux are being made of degradable material.”
Additionally, he also mentioned that international artists from six countries will be performing during the international Ram Leela.
Ayodhya, Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal said that extensive preparations were being made for the event and this time 25 lakh diyas will be lit to illuminate ghats along the banks of the Sarayu River setting a new record in the Guinness Book of World Records.

He said that Ramlila at the international level would be performed on October 30 and would be organised at Ram Katha Park.This year, Ayodhya is set to illuminate 55 ghats along the banks of the Sarayu River, with over 2 million lamps already prepared.
The Uttar Pradesh government has proclaimed plans for a spectacular display this Diwali, intending to make a new world record by illuminating the Saryu river banks with a staggering 2.8 million lamps. Placing equal importance to ecology, high emphasis will be placed on using eco-sensitive lamps to illuminate the sacred Ram temple. These lamp choices will not only prevent any damage or discolouration caused by stains and soot but also ensure the flame stays on for a longer duration.
